“Some years ago, I became an Orono Planning Commissioner. The education and experience I had about variances, building codes, set-backs, and legal procedures was intense. A fair-minded, principled, and committed Planning Commissioner is vital to protect the rights of homeowners, landowners, or citizens seeking to build or make improvements to their homes. This is especially true in Orono because of the variation in lot sizes, the necessity to protect Lake Minnetonka waters, the city's commitment to open spaces and park access, and the desire to maintain Orono's unique character.

Serving alongside me was Bruce Lemke. Working with Bruce meant I had a fellow commissioner who was a voice of reason, had integrity and wisdom, was trustworthy, and who did their homework. Planning Commissioners make on-site visits, review complicated documents, and offer opinions based on legal standards and city codes. Bruce always took these responsibilities seriously and could be counted on to provide sound reasons for his conclusions.

I urge you to vote for Bruce Lemke. He will roll up his sleeves to return Orono to its roots as a community that is transparent, fiscally responsible, and ethical.”
